Marrow spoon (paqquti)

This spoon was generally made of caribou upper-leg bone and used to scoop out and eat marrow from animal bones, with the broad end being used for fatty, spongy marrows and the thin, narrow end for drier ones. You could reach in and scrape out every nook and cranny inside a bone. These spoons were also used when marrow was mixed with dried caribou meat to make the meat easier to swallow.

Nowadays, few people have or use such spoons. It's more common to use the handle of a metal spoon.
